Our new puppy cam system is
working very well! It has much better image quality than our
older closed circuit security system, and has been running practically 24/7
without any problems. This new system also has an iphone and
android app - email us for set-up details so you can watch our puppies while
you're on the go! You're seeing a view inside the whelping
box (see the photo at the bottom of the page).
February 1st: I've
just changed the view for the puppy cam - you can now see a portion of the room
and the front of the whelping box. The puppies now spend a lot of
time playing out of the box. They are getting more independent of
each other and don't always sleep in a group now. You'll be able to watch
them eating their softened puppy food if you happen to tune in at meal
times. Currently they are getting at least three meals a day.
Jasmine has her own room next door to the puppies and visits them a few times a
day for nursing but mostly just for socializing. Jasmine is less
interested in spending much time with the puppies as they get older - this is
just part of the natural weaning process. Soon the puppies will be
completely independent from her. If you see me with the puppies you'll
notice I'm wearing tall (ugly) boots. These are my 'puppy boots' and they
never leave the nursery. Bacteria and viruses can easily be carried in on
shoes, so having a pair that never leaves the nursery helps protect the puppies
from getting sick. I tuck my pant legs into the boots so the puppies can't
grab them, for my safety and theirs. It's hard to walk among a litter of
puppies without stepping on any of their toes, and would be even harder if they
were grabbing my pant legs!

gives an 'aerial' view of the the box.
