Before completing our puppy application, we ask that you please read this entire page.
These are important issues that are frequently asked about, and we want every family to understand them.  Some breeders discuss these things only if they are asked about, but we want you to understand these issues and know our policies before you make your decision.

Allergies:
First generation (F1) Labradoodles are not recommended for families with allergy issues.  Breeders who claim their F1 Labradoodles are 'hypoallergenic' or allergy friendly are either unknowledgeable or stretching the truth.   While SOME F1's may be allergy friendly, there really is no way to predict which puppies are and which aren't.   If you have allergies in your household you should consider an F1B Labradoodle.   Although not every F1B will be allergy friendly, the chances are much higher.   If you have severe allergy issues, you should consider a 'multi-generational' Labradoodle, which is the type most likely to be allergy friendly.

Shedding:
If you want a Labradoodle that is low shed, you should be considering an F1B and not a first generation (F1).   While many F1's will shed less than purebred Labs, the amount that they will shed cannot be predicted.  Some F1's will be low shed, and some will not.   Again, breeders who claim their F1 Labradoodles are 'no shed' are either unknowledgeable or stretching the truth.   If shedding is a concern for you, you may not be happy with an F1 and I would recommend an F1B.  Many, but not all, F1B's are low shed.

Size:
The majority of our puppies mature around 50 lbs or more.  Females tend to mature smaller than the males.  The largest puppy we've had so far (that we know of) is a male that weighs 93 lbs.  As far as body size and type, our puppies inherit a combination of Standard Poodle and Labrador qualities.  The puppies tend to mature taller than a Lab of the same weight.  They have longer, less stocky legs than a Labrador, and a trimmer build.  They often have a graceful & elegant "trot", like they are proud of themselves and saying "look at me!".   If you are looking for a miniature Labradoodle please email us and we'll suggest some breeders who might have one.

Spay/Neuter IS Required:
Our puppies are sold as companion pets only and we require that they be spayed or neutered before they reach the age of 8 months.   We do this to protect our puppies and ensure they are being placed into loving "forever" homes.   We require a legally binding spay/neuter contract to be signed.   If you are a breeder looking for a  puppy to add to your program, please email us, as we may occasionally select an outstanding puppy as a candidate for breeding.

Coat Color and Waviness:
We realize that coat color and the amount of waves that your puppy will have may be almost as important to you as a good temperament.  If you are applying for a puppy from a litter that has not yet been born, before we approve your application we will discuss your preferences with you and determine if our upcoming litters may have a puppy for you.  Our dogs have been DNA tested to determine their coat color genetics, which enables us to predict the color possibilities of puppies within each litter.   However, in cases where a litter may contain several shades or colors of puppies, obviously there is no way to determine how many puppies of each color there will be.  For example, if the litter has the potential to include black puppies AND caramel puppies, there may be some puppies of each color - or all the puppies may, by chance, be the same color.

Waviness: What one person considers "very wavy" may not be the same as what another person does, so it's helpful if you can point us to an online picture of a Labradoodle who has the kind of coat that you are hoping for.   It's important to know that a puppy that is very wavy when young may lose some wave by adulthood, and one that is less wavy may develop more waves as he matures.  We try to match what you are looking for based on what the puppy's coat looks like now, but there is no way to predict how a puppy's coat may change as he matures.  Each puppy is an individual and will develop differently.  Like human children, even siblings can look very different from each other.  If there is a particular "look" that you absolutely HAVE to have, you should look into buying a full grown adult dog that has that look -  that is the only way you can be guaranteed to get it.

Visitor Policy:
We allow limited visitation of our puppies.  Due to the recent outbreaks of Parvo virus and it's ability to kill entire litters within days, we have decided that we must limit visitors to those who have a reserved or purchased a puppy.  The health and safety of our puppies is our first priority.  The positive side is that you can be assured that when YOUR puppy is born here, we will do everything possible to minimize his/her exposure to deadly diseases.  If you have reserved a puppy and then visit and find anything about us or our dogs unsatisfactory, we will refund your deposit.

Reservations and order of puppy selection:
Puppy selections are made in the order that applications are received - those who reserve a puppy first will be first to be matched with a puppy from the litter.  After your application is approved you may follow up by mailing your deposit.  As long as your deposit arrives within five days of approval, we will use the date that you completed the online form as your application date.  If your deposit takes longer to arrive, we will use the arrival date of your deposit as your application date.
